Young Scholars Forum > Description

The Young Scholars Forum (YSF) is a dedicated track designed to support the next generation of early career researchers in Chinese Linguistics, both within and outside Europe. Running concurrently with the General Sessions, the YSF provides an inclusive platform for eligible participants to present ongoing research, discuss methodological challenges, connect with peers who share similar research interests, and enhance their international academic visibility. The forum aims to provide junior linguists with opportunities to present their work in a formal academic conference setting.

Why submit to the YSF?

Discussion Focused Environment: As a forum dedicated to young scholars, the YSF places strong emphasis on exchange and dialogue. Each panel includes dedicated discussion time at the end, allowing presenters and audience members to exchange ideas and address common research challenges.

Expert Mentorship: Unlike standard conference panels, each YSF session is assigned a senior researcher who serves as a mentor. Presenters receive immediate, constructive feedback on their work following their presentation, with attention to both content and methodology.

Publication Pipeline: High-quality papers presented at the YSF will be invited to submit to a special issue/section, potentially alongside commentaries from the session researchers. We are pleased to announce a partnership with the peer-reviewed journal Flapfirst (for more details, please visit their website: https://flapfirstjournal.wordpress.com).

Networking & Resources: A range of networking activities (to be announced) will take place during the conference, offering participants opportunities to meet fellow young scholars, build professional connections, and foster future collaborations.
